The year ahead will, regrettably, be another challenging one financially, with many households suffering considerable hardship to make ends meet.
The Church of Ireland community is not immune from such pressures and to address that problem two years ago, the Archbishops and Bishops of the Church of Ireland – together with Protestant Aid – initiated a special appeal to parishioners throughout the 26 Counties to give whatever they could to help relieve the difficulties experienced by members of our community.
The response was most encouraging – €150,000 was raised and has been distributed – but sadly financial hardship continues to be a fact of life for many families so the Archbishops and Bishops have again asked Protestant Aid to spearhead a major fund-raising and awareness campaign.
Letters have been sent to each family through the parish network seeking their support for those in our community who are struggling in the present economic climate. Your generous response would be much appreciated.
